Daisykins Hosts Autumn Parent/Carer Macmillan Coffee Morning

On Thursday 27th September 2019, Daisykins Day Nursery in Rugby hosted an Autumn Parent/Carer Macmillan Coffee Morning. The children had been busy making delicious cakes for their family and friends to try, the practitioners had the tea and coffee at the ready and the parents/carers had responded to their invitations.

A range of Autumn activities were set out for the children to engage in from hedgehog fork painting, to an autumnal woodland creatures small-world tuff tray, to Autumn stories. The children were also encouraged to practice their mark-making skills in the mud/cocoa powder/soil tray using the paintbrushes. The practitioners provided the children with paintbrushes to make their marks. They also placed leaves with the letters of the alphabet on as a visual aid to encourage the children to copy each letter's formation.

Baby Room made yummy chocolate rice krispie cakes, Toddler Room made delicious rocky road traybakes, Pre-School Minors made scrumptious flapjacks and Pre-School made tasty lemon drizzle cake. They were all a great success, with only a few being left at the end of the morning.

Two of our amazingly talented parents/carers made cakes for our Macmillan Coffee Morning which blew us away! They were so incredible that we simply couldn't cut into them! We decided to raffle each cake off for £1 a ticket with two winners being selected at random. The children helped us to draw the prize winner, each child pulling one of the tickets out of the bag with their eyes closed. Thank you to the children who helped us to find our winner. Well done to Leah and Elizabeth who each won one of the astounding cakes!

Ann, one of our fantastic practitioners, also brought in some delicious cupcakes. They looked and smelt amazing and we heard they tasted really tasty too!

Thank you to all the parents/carers who attended our Autumn Parent/Carer Macmillan Coffee Morning. We look forward to finding out about how much money they helped us to raise!
