Once I Caught A fish Alive

Singing songs is part of the children's daily routine at Daisykins nursery in Rugby, on this occasion the babies enjoyed their song time at the local park. The practitioners believe that singing is an important part of the babies routine as it promotes and develops the babies verbal communication, understanding, motor skills, use of gesture and their knowledge of the world around them.

Song time at Daisykins Nursery in Rugby is filled with variety by singing a wide collection of songs including number, action and classic rhymes. Number songs are important as from 8 months the EYFS recognises that babies can begin to gain an awareness of numbers, action songs always get the babies excited and teach the children to communicate through gesture. We also like to use props and songs bags to maintain interest and widen understanding, and we also like to change where we do our singing and a firm favourite of the babies is song time on the field at our local park.
