Peppa pig's street dance class

Children at our Rugby Nursery participated in a street dance class with Practitioner Jess, the session was structured to develop children's co-ordination skills and confidence in street dance styles. The children all patiently waited on our dance floor with the disco lights and music ready for the grand entry of Peppa pig.

Peppa pig soon arrived and the children were excited and even more eager to join in with the street dance class and to have a boogie with Peppa. The children and Peppa listened carefully to the instructions given by practitioner Jess and copied the different ways of moving. This was a great opportunity for the children to learn how there bodies can move in different ways and give them more physical awareness of themselves and others around them.

The children were all keen to show their own unique styles and to get Peppa's approval which boosted their self esteem and gave them a strong sense of achievement at the end of the session. The children used their bodies to express themselves and to mirror the street dance moves being taught to them, giving the children a new skill and interest which can be developed further and give the children something to focus on.

The children all had so much fun and learnt lots of new and funky moves to wow their parents and this was made more special and memorable because they were able to share the experience with a well loved character; peppa pig.
