Learning lots of yoga moves

Children in Pre School Minors joining in learning yoga moves

As part of Pre School Minors, weekly routine the children regularly practice yoga. This fun yoga session incorporates a popular children's story. After breakfast, the children ventured off onto the dance floor to master their yoga poses whilst listening to one of their favourites stories. The children waited for Practitioner Andrea to find the story Going on a Bear Hunt on the computer.
As the story began the children waited for the yoga poses to start, they were quick to start joining in.  Various poses involved sitting, standing, or lying down, each of these poses demonstrated a part of the story, for example, the children stood up tall stretching their arms and then swaying them side to side to become the snow storm. Bringing a story alive through the use of yoga gives children the opportunity to learn new words as well as developing their physical skills.Yoga is not just about developing children's physical skills, it encourages self-esteem, enhances coordination, builds on children's concentrate and improves children's general well being.
