Daisy Tumble Promotes Learning and Development

The children at Daisykins Day Nursery in Rugby love to explore, especially in Daisy Tumble, their purpose built two leveled soft play area. Whether it's to lead a group time, play a variety of team building games or to encourage the children to self-explore, the practitioners plan to take the children to the soft play area at least once a week.

This exciting facility is loved amongst all children at Daisykins and is often used to incorporate the children's next steps, learning and development. By using a fun area that the children are comfortable, happy and content in, practitioners are more likely to see the children perform to the best of their ability. One of our fantastic practitioners, Allaina, lead a shape recognition activity in Daisy Tumble, supporting two children in particular to meet their next steps of showing an interest in shapes in the environment. Not only were the children keen to have a turn, but also welcomed challenging questions, extending their learning further.

One of the great aspects of soft play is the invitation to climb, explore movement and understand spacial awareness. The children at Daisykins enjoy experimenting with different ways of moving around Daisy Tumble, especially when going down the slide. We wonder what clever way they will think of moving next!

The practitioners have lots of inviting activities for the children to explore as part of their 'Letters and Sounds' planning and are hoping to trial some of the activities in the soft play area next week. Be sure to look on Facebook, Instagram and other social media pages to find out what fascinating things they have planned!
